Mobile dating app Clover analyzed data in 2014 from 150,000 users to find out if the holiday season really is break-up season. The results are pretty interesting. There’s been a 300% increase in sign-ups from people already in relationships in December. 33% more women are signing up that are already in existing relationships compared to men. People that earn less than $60,000 per year are 2.5x more likely to seek a new relationship while in an existing relationship.
We think it’s safe to say that people aren’t just shopping for gifts over the holidays – they’re also thinking about making big changes in their lives. Perhaps financial strain, seasonal depression and peer pressure all play a role. We’d love to hear what you think. Send us a tweet @TheCloverApp
