Think back to pre-COVID times. Would you have ever thought that someone’s views on a virus would play such a crucial role in whether or not you were interested in them? No, right?
Well, in the post-Covid dating world, more unusual dating trends are popping up like maskfishing, apocalypsing and now, fauci-ing! People are making their health and their family’s health a priority that if someone doesn’t take a global pandemic seriously, it’s a deciding factor in whether they get a call back or not.
So what is Fauci-ing?
Coined by Plenty Of Fish, getting fauci’d is rejecting someone because they don’t take COVID seriously enough. Yes, it’s after Dr. Anthony Fauci.
If you got dumped or ghosted because you refuse to wear a mask, you definitely got fauci’d.

In fact, in an interview with “Axios on HBO” Monday, Dr. Anthony Fauci gave his thoughts on the new trend.
He had never heard of the term and asked, “What does it mean?”
After being told the definition: “cutting off a relationship if you don’t think that that other person is serious enough about social distancing and taking the pandemic seriously,” Fauci burst into laughter and jokingly added “I’m gonna ‘Fauci’ you”
So the big question is, did you get fauci’d? Or have you fauci’d someone? It doesn’t make you a bad person IMO! It’s an important factor and value and making sure you align on that will probably get you closer to long-term success!
